When Wayne is hired as the new security guard for the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, he and Homer soon become friends. Marge dreams of appearing on a reality series. In an attempt to save Chalmers’ job, Bert and his friends take over the school. Homer is left in a coma by a spider bite and he is only able to communicate by using his flatulence. Homer’s new secretary Roz is out to steal his job. When Marge is tired of doing mom things, she takes her family out to an Ethiopian restaurant, where they enjoy the food a lot. After this, Marge starts a food blog that does not settle well with Homer.

After a successful party for Absolut Krusty, Homer becomes the accounting executive for Mr. Burns. Krusty and his first agent get reunited after Krusty is fired, and he gets a gig on TV. In the TV show Gut Check with Homer Simpson, Homer becomes a populist TV Pundit, while Ted plays himself as the Republican presidential candidate who is seeking an endorsement from Homer. During a family dinner, Maggie who has been pregnant goes into labor.
