Marge Simpson is the cover girl for the November issue of Playboy magazine. We have all known Marge Simpson as blue beehive-like haired mother of one of the most loved dysfunctional American family, The Simpsons.

Marge Simpson has a picture of herself with only the signature Playboy Bunny chair covering her assets. This will be the cover page of the Playboy Magazine November issue. Marge is actually the first ever cartoon character to ever pose as a cover girl for a men’s magazine. The magazine will also include a centerfold featuring Marge. There is also an article about her entitled ‘The Devil in Marge Simpson’.

The November issue will be the Magazines way of celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘The Simpsons’.

Playboy spokesperson, Scott Flanders, have told reporters that the idea of including Marge Simpson in their selection of Playboy cover girls sounds very catchy. The idea is unusual and it is something cool and hip. Scott Flanders is the new chief executive of the Playboy Enterprise.

The idea was actually one way of appealing to younger readers. The Playboy magazine aim to get the attention of readers aged 20’s. Lately, Playboy Magazine has been catering to the interest of male readers aged 35 and above.

Previous sales of Playboy was reported to have gone down about 9 percent since June 2009. This is according to the statistics presented by the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

The planking sales is due to the wide availability of same context of the magazine in the internet. There are lots of pictures of naked women that are available online and are free for grabs. Flanders is hopeful that the idea of catering to younger generation of readers could help the magazines sales to increase.

There have been rumors that the men’s magazine will be out of operation soon because of the planking sales. But Flanders has denied the allegations. He told the reporters that he will try his best to keep the magazine in operation. He said that they will not quit printing the magazine.

Other celebrities that have already posed for the famous men’s magazine are Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford. These actresses are considered sex symbols during their time, and now that Marge Simpson is posing with the same magazine, she ranks as a sex symbol too.

‘The Simpson’ characters have just recently been regarded with a U.S. postal stamp in line with the shows 20th anniversary. The animated series featuring the most loved family in America is the longest running comedy series in the history of television. ‘The Simpsons’ started in December 1989 and is still getting high viewer ratings. The show’s debut episode was a Christmas themed one entitled ‘Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire’.

Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie have been household names. Since the show’s debut, ‘The Simpsons’ has earned 24 Emmy’s in primetime category. The show just renewed its contract with Fox television and is still set to make two more season.
