The Simpsons stayed on that show for 3 years, until it was made into a half-hour show on prime-time television. The very first episode of The Simpsons aired December 17, 1989 as a Christmas special. Then, January 14, 1990, the first actual episode, “Bart the Genius” was on the air. This show has now earned the title of America’s longest running sitcom and animated series.

No one involved in The Simpsons thought the show would be so successful. People would notice the show because it was different, and people would like it, but no one knew that it would have the success that it did. The Simpsons became Fox Network’s show with the highest ratings in history.

Maybe The Simpsons, in which Bart hasn’t aged a day, is so popular because of how society and life is portrayed, along with characters that everyone knows and sharp, witty writing. The Simpsons give us a satirical view of our own lives, so not only can we relate, but we get a laugh out of it as well. And everyone knows Homer’s catchphrase, “D’oh!” It even has a listing in the Oxford English Dictionary. What’s not to love?

Plenty of celebrities have lent their voices to the show, some acting as themselves, and some as character voices. The Simpsons have had over 300 celebrity guests, and the show actually holds a Guinness World Record because of this.

You see Pies, Idiot Scapes, Sex and a riot breaking out during the St. Pat’s Day Parade in the shows opening episode. Then you have Mare who starts baking erotic pastries while Homer becomes Bounty Hunter. Their final episode of the show, “Coming to Homerica” devotes it’s storyline to sociopolitical racial struggles, with neighboring town of Ogdenville’s Norwegian-Americans and the residents of Springfield. Wall gets put up and tensions rise while Homer turns vigilante.

The contents of the episodes are even more critical, and fans dismiss the Simpsons as tired and old, they are still fashionable, even after 20 years, which is spectacular for any series to maintain.

And to just imagine that almost 20 years past that an actress had joked about begging the creators to have a guest spot on The Simpsons, at that time their newest prime-time series. Having a lawsuit after that fact, due to her cut of the Simpsons profits which intervened and also created a residue of hate and resentment. She eventually does get the settlement, one-time spot and a payout. Meanwhile the Simpsons became its own legend. They have just released their 20 year, four CD box set that has 21 episodes, making it grand for their historic anniversary.

Even though the earlier seasons were roughly animated they did digitally restore them for the high definition of Blu-ray, but as far as lousy segments being re-animated, no! But no extras, it does miss the action of the amusing documentary when put on the Blu-ray and DVD formats.

An episode of The Simpsons from 1992 featured the half-brother of Homer, Herb Powell. He had the same idea, and Homer helped Herb create this product. Of course, the baby translator took off leading Herb to bestow countless gifts upon the Simpson family.

Now, this idea has become a reality. The new app is supposed to be 96 percent accurate, with a $29.99 price tag on it. It will put your baby’s cries into one of five categories that are supposed to let you know if your baby is annoyed, bored, hungry, stressed, or tired.

The Guinness Book’s officials will be keeping a very close eye on him as he starts his six (6) day mission to watch all the episodes with out sleep. He had said that he was a huge fan and he says he can do this without losing endurance and staying awake for the week’s time it will take him to finish them all. He also says that the judges will be watching him so good that he will have to keep his eyes fixed on the TV screen, not wandering around the room – and be watching and concentrating of the show as well.

There is an American right now who has the record for watching TV nonstop, but this Brit man said that he believes that his adoration for the Simpson’s characters, Bart, Marge, Lisa, Homer and of course Maggie is going to help him to surpass that record.

There are rules for him to abide by that the Guinness people set. Strict at that, one is he must take twenty minute breaks after every three (3) episodes he watches. The Simpson’s Broadcasting Company is backing him with this attempt to beat the world record by sending every episode to him on DVD format.

Wow, Homer would be proud of him, one week with no sleep just to watch his show, way to go and good luck!

The latest issue of the periodical ‘Emmy’ requested producers, scriptwriters and even its creator, Matt Groening to name the episode they have high esteem. Groening choose ‘Lisa the Skeptic’ as the one closet to his heart. This particular episode was telecast in 1997 during the ninth season of the series. Unquestionably, he singled out a great episode, which presents you insight into the innate thoughts Groening search for in his serial.

According to Dr. Irwin, Lisa is ecologically aware and is absolutely against nuclear energy and the nuclear power facility owned by Burns.

Dr. Irwin says that he is not much concerned about the negative interpretation on nuclear energy in ‘The Simpsons’ because other technologies such as wind power are also got derided on the show. He confesses that it would be very tough for him to say whether the interpretations on nuclear energy have any negative influence on the people, but he feels that there is no indication of any negative influene.

It had to occur finally. There were gossips concerning Tiger Woods and a woman, Simpson, trickled and Homer Simpson got wind of it. Acquaintances of Homer stated that when he heard the name ‘Simpson’ named as a mistress of Tiger Woods, Homer imagined it was his wife Marge that the newscaster was discussing about.

It is also learnt that she contacted a celeb attorney to represent her.

When asked to comment on the recent Simpson episode, their son Bart gave out a terse ‘no-comment’ and rushed home to grasp the facts of the commotion.

In the meantime, Marge discussed the matter with a friend of hers and informed her that she was thinking of being emerging as the mistress No. _ of Tiger. She considered the ‘hush-money’ of $20 K a month is useful as she left Simpson. In all probability, Tiger may not be able to recollect every one of his mistresses and as such she could even notch up millions in pay offs to keep mum.

In the interim, Homer and his son Bart is thinking of a plan to bring Marge back home.
